A small browser-based project for quick, understandable tuning.
Why this tool exists
Tuning Guitar is maintained to solve one task well: tune a guitar, bass, ukulele or any other instrument without installing an app or creating an account. Its main feedback says directly whether a string is too low, in tune, or too high.
Accuracy and testing
Pitch detection uses the YIN algorithm, rejects quiet or uncertain signals, and smooths several measurements. Standard notes are checked with generated test signals; real microphones and instruments can vary because of room sound, overtones, and noise.
Privacy
Microphone audio is processed only in your browser memory. It is not recorded, uploaded, or stored as a pitch history.
